The word ‘swift’, as an adjective, is a synonym of ‘fast’. But ‘swift’ is also a noun. A swift is a bird which I begin looking for from my window here in Madrid at this time of year. It’s still a bit early to be honest, but as a symbol of the coming summer the first swift of the year is a welcome sight.
