Lost in Translation
I have family visiting from the UK this week. This is an event which always makes me think about translation as I am responsible for communications between my English family and my wife’s Spanish family. This is a job which I don’t always do very well, which I obviously blame on the difficulty of translating some English words into Spanish and vice-versa. Getting a translation wrong can be an awkward thing. Actually, ‘awkward’ is a good example of a hard word to translate!
