I am one of those people who would be lost without Google Maps to get from one place to another. I am (easily) old enough to remember struggling on long car journeys with big folding maps, or road atlases with the fold between two pages in just the wrong place. But I was always bad at map reading and I have a very weak sense of direction, so the idea of a ‘systems failure’ on the road fills me with dread. Equally unpleasant though, is the thought of being reliant on fallible technology!
