My Carbon Footprint

The very high temperatures this week in Madrid, as well as in other parts of Spain and the world, have got me thinking about climate change. About how easy it is for governments and the media to move on from the stark message of the 2022 IPCC report, but also about the role of the individual. It somehow seems strange or inadequate to connect something so vast and so – at least until relatively recently – intangible to the everyday actions of individual people, but as we see more and more examples of unusual and record-breaking weather, the more immediate the issue becomes and the more people think about what is within their power to do.
