April Fool’s Day
We will soon take a break from classes for Easter week, but before that comes the first of April, also known as ‘April fool’s day’. In the UK and many other countries this is a day for playing tricks and practical jokes. It is also a day for media hoaxes, like the famous example of the spaghetti trees broadcast by the BBC many years ago. Why is this example so famous? It’s hard to say; maybe because it seems so strange that people didn’t know what spaghetti was, or that the ‘serious’ BBC was playing such a joke! Anyway, why not have a go at our new quiz based on the language of jokes (click on the picture below) and have a very happy Easter, of course!
