Keep it in the Family!
Sunday 1 May is Mother’s Day in Spain (I hope you remembered!) In my case, my mother lives in England, so the day for me to mark this year was 27 March – all very confusing! In any case, it’s clear that it’s important for us to remember and show gratitude to our nearest and dearest on a regular basis. This got me thinking about family and the names for family relationships we have in English, and how they can often be quite tricky, particularly in terms of spelling and pronunciation.
